COOKIES POLICY
Propensity management is the management of an individual’s natural inclination or tendency toward certain interests, products, needs, and so on. We use cookies for propensity management in order to personalize communications with you, make sure we are meeting your specific needs, and not overwhelming you with unwanted information. A cookie is a piece of information that is stored on your computer’s hard drive by your web browser.
When you visit one of our Sites again, our server recognizes cookies, providing information about your last visit. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can change their settings to prevent them from being accepted automatically. If you choose not to receive cookies, you can disable them from your browser; you will still be able to continue using most of the features of our Web site.
How SIAPI uses cookies
This cookie policy describes how SIAPI S.r.l.. (“SIAPI”), our partners and our other third parties, use cookies or similar technologies (such as pixel tags, web beacons, clear GIFs, JavaScript and local storage). In this policy, cookies and similar technologies are referred to simply as “cookies.” The options available to you regarding such cookies are also described. This Policy covers SIAPI’s use of cookies in connection with websites (including websites and mobile applications) owned and controlled by SIAPI (the “Sites”).
In some cases, we may use cookies to collect information that is classified as personal information or that may become personal information when combined with other information. In these cases, SIAPI’s Cookie Policy applies in addition to this Cookie Policy.
At this link you can find an overview of the cookies used, a description of their purpose, any third parties, and the session length of the cookies, detailed for each cookie category.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small files, usually consisting of letters and numbers, that are placed on the user’s computer, tablet, phone or similar device when the user visits a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to improve the functionality of websites and to provide analytical information.
The following are the different types of cookies that we and our service providers may use on our Sites:
- Strictly necessary cookies .These cookies are necessary for the Sites themselves to function (for example, to allow you to access secure areas of our website). These cookies allow the user to move around the Sites and use their functionality. Disabling these cookies hampers the performance of the Sites and may make certain features and services inaccessible.
- Analytical and performance cookies. These cookies allow us to analyze activity on our Sites, and on other sites where we post content, in order to improve and optimize how they work. For example, we may use these types of cookies to ensure that visitors can easily find the information they are looking for within the Sites. One way we do this is by recognizing and counting the number of visitors and seeing how they move within our Sites when they use them. Analytics cookies also help us measure the performance of our advertising campaigns in order to improve them, as well as to optimize the content of our Sites for those who are involved in our advertising.
- Functionality cookies. These cookies are used to recognize you when you visit our Sites again. This allows us to personalize content, greet you by name, and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
- Advertising cookies. These cookies record your online activities, including visits to our Sites, pages that have been visited, and links and advertisements that have been clicked. One purpose is to make the content displayed on our Sites more relevant to the user. Another purpose is to enable us and our service providers to serve advertisements or other communications that are more relevant to your apparent interests. (When we or our service providers do this, other partners are also involved, such as publishers, data management platforms, and demand side platforms that help manage data.) For example, if you look at a page on one of our sites, we may offer you-in the sites themselves or on other sites-an advertisement for the products referenced on that page or for similar products and services. We, our service providers and partners may also add other data to the information collected by these cookies, including information obtained from third parties, and share it with third parties for the purpose of providing advertisements to you.
How does SIAPI collect and use other information?
We and our service providers may use cookies for a variety of purposes, including:
- Help us and third parties obtain information about user visits to sites;
- Processing orders;
- Analyze user visitation patterns to improve our Sites;
- Provide advertising, communications, social features and content from us and third parties on our Sites and third party Sites specific to your interests;
- Remember language and other preferences;
- Help the user get the information they are looking for;
- Provide a safe and secure service for online transactions;
- Measuring how many people use our Sites and how they use them, to keep our Sites efficient and to better understand the audiences of our Sites;
- If you register for one of our Sites or otherwise provide us with your personal information, we may combine that information with other information we acquire from or about you or you provide to us, information about your use of our Sites, or information we receive from or about you from third parties. We will use this combined data for marketing and analytics purposes.
How long do cookies stay on devices?
Some of our cookies operate from the time you visit a SIAPI service until the end of that particular web browsing session. These cookies expire and are automatically deleted when you close your Internet browser. These cookies are called “session” cookies.
Some cookies remain on the user’s device between browsing sessions and do not expire when the browser is closed. These cookies are called “persistent” cookies. The length of time a persistent cookie remains on the user’s device varies from cookie to cookie. We and other parties use persistent cookies for a variety of purposes, such as to store user preferences so that they are available for the next visit and to keep a more accurate account of how often you visit our Sites, how often you return, how your use of the Sites may vary over time, and the effectiveness of advertising efforts..
Who places cookies on devices?
Cookies may be installed on your device by SIAPI as the operator of the Site.
These cookies are called “first-party” cookies. Some cookies may be installed on your device by a party other than SIAPI. These cookies are called “third-party” cookies.
For example, a SIAPI partner may place a third-party cookie to enable online chat services.
Cookies may also be used to allow us and third parties to know when you visit our Sites and to understand how you interact with email, advertising, or other content. Through cookies, you can obtain aggregate and other information that is not considered personal information (such as your operating system, browser version, and source URL, including from emails and advertisements), which can be used to improve user experience and understand traffic patterns.
This technology counts the number of users who visit a particular service from specific banner ads outside the SIAPI Site or who have clicked on links or graphics included in newsletters received by SIAPI via e-mail. It is also used as a tool to compile aggregate statistics about the use of SIAPI Sites, to perform analytics and help us optimize our Sites, and to help you receive advertising based on your interests, as described in more detail below.
How does SIAPI use online and mobile advertising?
We and third parties, including technology partners and service providers, use interest-based advertising to deliver personalized advertising and content that we and other advertisers believe may be of interest to you. To the extent that third-party vendors use cookies to perform these services on behalf of SIAPI, SIAPI does not control the use of this technology or the information that results from it and is not responsible for the actions or policies of such third parties.
Ads may be delivered to you based on your online or mobile behavior (on the SIAPI Sites and non-SIAPI websites), your search activity, your responses to one of our advertisements or emails, the pages you visit, your general geographic location, or other information. These ads may appear on our Sites or on third-party websites.
How are cookies managed?
Users can decide whether or not to accept cookies. SIAPI complies with all applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to the EU GDPR, and all applicable global regulations regarding the use of cookies. Where required by local law, visitors to our Sites are asked whether or not they wish to have cookies installed on their browsers. If you choose not to have cookies installed on your device, SIAPI will respect your opt-out and no cookies will be installed on your device that we personally control. In countries where an explicit opt-out is not required, you are offered the option of opting out at any time; otherwise, we will place cookies on your device for the purposes stated above.
It is important to know that SIAPI complies with all applicable cookie and data protection regulations. As data protection laws evolve around the world, SIAPI modifies its policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable relevant regulations and directives.
